What are the Costs To Hang A Real Estate License?

Individuals with an active real estate license in Nevada have the opportunity to hang their license with Key Advantage.

If the licensee does not pay annual fee within the renewal period specified on the yearly invoice, the license will be returned to the Nevada Real Estate Division, and this contract is void.

You have the option to pay for a lifetime membership. This enables you to transfer in and out of the brokerage limitlessly during the life of the license. Additionally, you are not subject to any annual fees with this option.

Real Estate License Reciprocity

Once you obtain your real estate license, you may find yourself wondering whether you can practice anywhere in the country. The short answer is: No.

The long answer is that every state has specific requirements to obtain a real estate license. That said, there are certain states where you can bypass this process if you already have an active license. This is done through a process called real estate license reciprocity, in which you can transfer your license without going through all the pre-licensing requirements for another state.

You may want to take advantage of this if you are:

  • Moving to another state
  • Living or working at the border of a state
  • Assisting with a one-off transaction

Nevada has reciprocal agreements with:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Delaware
  • Idaho
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Minnesota
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • West Virginia

No MLS Fees at Our Referral Brokerage

When you join a referral brokerage as a real estate agent, you are not directly representing clients; instead, you are responsible for referring clients to other real estate agents. Many agents with an active license choose to go this route to minimize pressure and attain more flexibility.

The real estate referral fee agreement with Key Advantage offers generous referral splits, plus we give you the option to practice real estate without using an MLS. These splits divide the commission from a buyer or seller closing on a property between the agents and brokers involved. When a client closes on a property, you can receive 40%.

This 40% referral fee is based on the total commission paid to the broker whom the client was referred to, excluding document control fees, bonuses, and other fees external from the commission percentage stated in the contract.
